There are many benefits to having your blog articles posted to your social networks. For starters it reduces the amount of content you have to post on these networks, saving you time. You’re also getting more eyeballs on your articles and potentially driving more people to your website. Lastly, and most importantly, the more your blog articles get shared or syndicated the better chances they have for ranking highly on search engines. This is the bridge between the social media and SEO gap.
There are many different ways that you can syndicate blog articles to your social networks. I’m just going to focus on three reliable ways that we recommend.
1) Facebook: Install the RSS Graffiti App. You simply need to be an admin for the Fan page you’d like the articles posted to. The set up is very easy, and the feed is reliable. I’ve only noticed an occasional feed that isn’t working, but by re-setting the feed you can usually fix any issues.
2) Twitter: Install Feedburner. In theory, you should already be using Feedburner to allow people to subscribe to your blog via email. Once you set up Feedburner just go to the ‘Publicize’ tab and then select ‘Socialize’ in the left-hand sidebar. From there you simply have to enter your login credentials. This solution is extremely reliable.
3) Google+: Install the WPGPlus plugin for WordPress. This is a newer plugin because Google+ is a newer social network. That said, there have been some issues with it. There are more reliable plugins for syndicating articles to Google+, but they’re not free. One such is NextScripts, which is as reliable as any solution we’ve seen. That said, we imagine the free plugins will improve, so we’ll update this article with any news.
