How to generate leads for your medical practice

For any medical practice the key to success and growth is revenue. This revenue is either from recurring business or new business. In order to bring in new business, whether you’re a plastic surgeon, aesthetic physician, cosmetic dentist or chiropractor, you need to generate leads. While this is no easy task, you can definitely increase the number of leads (and ultimately patients) for your practice by following these simple steps:

1) Build a nice looking website with a CALL TO ACTION: A clean, easy to read website is essential, but it’s not always enough. There needs to be a good call to action that’s visible right on the home page. Furthermore, this call to action needs to involve an opt-in that is enticing. Consider giving away an ebook, CDs or newsletter with valuable secrets, strategies or tips that potential patients would want to learn more about.

2) Optimize your website: Invest in SEO and utilize your blog. You want your website, and blog articles, to rank in Google naturally so that people will find you. In fact, before you even begin the design phase of your website, make sure that the platform or the software it’s being built on is search engine friendly.

3) Utilize social networking tools: Social media is a great place to interact with your patients, potential patients, or anyone who’s simply interested in what you do. For starters, make sure that you have a custom Fan page with an opt-in so that you can generate leads. You’ll then want to utilize both Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to pose questions, answer concerns, give out tips and advice, and generally build relationships with your Fans, Followers and Connections. That is what social networking is all about: building relationships. If people know, like and trust you then they’re more likely to do business with you.

4) Get testimonials: The best way to do this is using a video camera. A lot of people can simply use their phone. If you can’t, then I recommend investing in a flip cam. Take time after seeing a patient to record them speaking fondly of your practice. Then edit the video to add a call to action, optimize it, post it to YouTube and then to your website, and finally, syndicate it to all other video networking websites. This way you’ll get maximum exposure for each of your videos.

These are just a few things to consider if you’re looking to help your medical practice generate leads online. Obviously you need a comprehensive strategy and an overall vision. This is where many businesses fail. They might have a lot of different things going on, but no strategy.
