Latest Cosmetic Surgeon Website Re-Design

We’re excited to get started with one of our newest clients, Richard Palmer, MD. A diplomat of both The American Board of Surgery and The American Board of Phlebology, Dr. Palmer is the founder and Medical Director of Surgical Arts of Virginia in Fredericksburg, VA.

Dr. Palmer had worked with several other digital marketing agencies in the past, with little luck. Our initial goal was to re-work the website look and feel to help with lead generation, and now that we’re shifting into the marketing phase our goal is to grow the website exposure in order to drive more traffic. The old  website wasn’t necessarily “bad,” in terms of design, it just needed a facelift. Here are some of the features of the new website, which we developed on WordPress:

  • custom design
  • fully “responsive” layout with “sticky” mobile calls to action
  • parallax page components
  • improved navigation for seamlessly accessing individual procedure pages
  • Turbo photo gallery (in development)
  • social media integration
  • full search engine optimization
  • blog integration
  • web forms for improved lead generation

You can see the difference in the before and afters below. The old website had more of a boxed-in look, limited mobile effectiveness, few calls to action, and poor search engine optimization. We re-organized the navigation, opening it up to allow for patients to find procedures by the specific area of the body they treat. We also simplified the home page, making it less cluttered.

On mobile, the you can see 2 of the old site screenshots on the left, compared to 2 of the new screenshots on the right. We’ve improved the ease in which tap to call, email, view the gallery, and find directions to the practice…

About the Author:

Tom joined Matt in 2010, helping co-found Turbo Medical Marketing. As COO, Tom oversees all production and works directly with both the executive team and the Account Managers. Tom has helped to formulate systems and processes for sales, business development, internal marketing, service offerings, client intake, and employee hiring and training. Tom has also spoken at several aesthetic conferences in the past about topics ranging plastic surgery technology to mobile marketing. Tom received his B.A. in Business Management Economics from the University of California at Santa Cruz. He is a former collegiate rugby player and he enjoys golfing, snowboarding, hiking, and playing with his dog Yogi in his spare time. He's also a mentor with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program in Charleston. Tom lives with his wife Lindsay in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
