New Google Analytics Features

Recently Google introduced a new version of Google Analytics. Right now, if you use Google Anlytics, you’ll have the option to switch between the new and the old versions. While the layout of the new version may take some getting used to, there are many new features. Here are just a few…

Real-Time Reporting

With real-time reporting you can get up to the second statistics from your website, including page views. I’m not entirely sure how real-time the older version of Google Analytics was (you could see today’s data), but Google seems to be really touting this feature.

Improved  Funnel Tracking

If you use funnel tracking you’ll really like the improvements made to this feature. Now you can track data from the previous 30 days for all conversions. You’ll be able to see exactly which medium led them to your site, the number of interactions it took them to convert, the last interaction before they converted, and the amount of time it took them to convert.

Better Mobile Reporting

Now, more than ever, people are browsing the web on mobile or tablet devices. Google Analytics now offers mobile reports to help you see more information about your mobile visitors, including percentage of total traffic, page views, bounce rate, conversions and much more. Also, you can see which kind of devices people are using to access your site.

Visitor Traffic Flow

Perhaps the coolest feature of the new Google Analytics is the flow visualization. The tool allows you to see a flow chart outlining how visitors are entering the site, where they’re going to next, and after that and so on. You can sort this information by traffic sources, location of visitors, and much much more.
