Email marketing should be a vital part of your marketing strategy. It’s cheap, and you can reach thousands of people with the just the click of a button. In the past I’ve discussed how to get started with email marketing for medical practices, but in this article I’d like to focus on med spas specifically.

Medical, or “medi,” spas are practices that usually feature a wide variety of non-invasive cosmetic treatments. Most legit medical spas have several pieces of equipment, including lasers, which allow them to perform multiple procedures. These procedures include laser hair removal, skin tightening, cellulite reduction, BOTOX and much more. Due to the numerous amounts of services offered at med spas you have many different options for running specials, and specials should be the key part of your email marketing.

Just as I recommend that you don’t get overly promotional with your Facebook messages or blog articles, the same goes for email. While the special offers are important, remember to incorporate some news and educational tips as well. This gives you more credibility and will help drive more patients to your blog for answers to questions or concerns they might have.

It is important to note that when implementing an email marketing plan you start by selecting a quality email marketing software. Never send mass emails from a personal email address. It’s unreliable and incredibly unprofessional. Most basic email marketing software programs have plans for under $20 a month, and they allow you to customize their pre-made templates or create your own from scratch.

The example above is a customized email header created by Turbo Medical Marketing. It incorporates the med spa’s logo, phone number and other design elements from their website. It also incorporates fireworks, as this specific email campaign was for July. This is something to consider to keep your emails fun and relevant, based on the time of year.

Remember that you don’t necessarily need a customized template to run a successful email campaign. However, make sure you keep your branding consistent by utilizing your logo and your colors.

The email you send out to all your patients, and your Fans, is a reflection of your practice. If you envision your practice as elegant and classy, why would you run an email campaign that does not mirror this professionalism? You wouldn’t…
